In 2009 four new One Cent (Penny) designs to commemorate the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth were released by the U.S. Mint. These intricately designed pennies illustrate the life of Lincoln, from his humble childhood in Kentucky, through his formative years as a rail splitter in Indiana. Lincoln's political life is chronicled with Lincoln in front of the Illinois Statehouse. The last design depicts the Capitol Building, its dome still under construction at the time of Lincoln's inauguration. Available colorized or raw individually or in a colorized set.
The selection of the Union Shield design was officially announced by the US Mint on November 12, 2009 and first minted in 2010. Here at American Colorized Coins we are offering colorized as well as raw versions of these uncirculated coins.
Each colorized penny is sold in plastic snap-lock hinged case with colored mat, and are viewable from both sides
